A quick look at my webcounter tells me you're all gone, but I think enough people read this to get an answer to the following question:
I am buying a laptop soon, and when the computer doesn't automatically include it, MSOffice is bloody expensive. What reason if any do I have to not just use OpenOffice?

openoffice word is solid; the other applicatins still can't replicate what excel/access/powerpoint do (but then, how often do you need excel/access/powerpoint?). there might be a few bugs here and there with sending files back and forth between openoffice and msoffice as well; but not enough to make it worth the extra money for msoffice. you might still also be able to buy the microsoft package from CCI (which is really cheap since unc has a site license).
